Personalized College Preparation

Beginning in 8th grade, Mesrobian School administers grade-level appropriate versions of the PSAT so that students are accustomed to the standardized testing required of students for college admission. Based on the results of their PSAT, students received a link through the College Board that connects them with a personalized Khan Academy SAT prep-program.

The student to high school college counselor ratio is typically hundreds of students per counselor. Mesrobian High School is proud to offer personal and individualized college counseling to help each individual student reach his or her potential. Each student has

their college applications and essays reviewed by multiple professionals. They receive individualized, customized letters of recommendation. Parents and students are offered the help of a college financial aid expert to walk families through the FAFSA application. In addition, High School Seniors take a College Preparation and Life Skills course their first semester to guide them through this entire process that would normally be left to students to manage alone.

All High School students take educational field trips to college and university campuses in order to help them imagine their futures in higher education and begin to determine their future career paths from an early age. Qualified students have the option of taking honors and Advanced Placement courses, which prepare students for the rigors of college level courses.

High School students have various elected, appointed, and volunteer opportunities in curricular, co-curricular, extracurricular, and athletic fields to serve in various leadership roles, build life skills, and develop a robust college resume. At Mesrobian High School, everyone has greater opportunities to lead on campus or off campus.
